Designing a Visual Dutch A1 E-book for Beginners
A complete educational design project combining editorial layout, visual storytelling, illustrated vocabulary, beginner-friendly writing, and digital product presentation.
The Challenge
The client had the foundation for a Dutch learning resource, but needed it transformed into a polished, engaging, and sellable digital product. The goal was to create a beginner-friendly A1 e-book focused on vocabulary related to the home.
Dream Architects Studio developed the complete creative direction: cover design, interior layout, illustrated vocabulary pages, simple A1-level sentences, practice exercises, final vocabulary sections, and a consistent visual system for future learning materials.
What We Created
The e-book was designed to be clear, warm, and easy to follow. Each section introduces a room or area of the house through labeled illustrations, simple vocabulary, and short A1-level sentences.
The Visual Direction
The visual system was built around soft illustrated scenes, warm tones, rounded labels, and a simple layout that keeps the learning experience accessible. The design avoids visual clutter while still feeling friendly and complete.
This approach allows students to quickly identify each word, connect it to an image, and then reinforce it through short reading and writing exercises.
Our Process
Creative Direction
We defined a soft, professional illustrated style suitable for an educational digital product.
Page System
We structured the book by home areas, including the kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, garden, garage, and more.
A1 Writing
We created simple, repetitive sentences and vocabulary sections appropriate for beginner learners.
Final E-book
The final product was prepared as a polished digital learning resource ready to share, use, or sell online.
The Result
A professional, visually engaging, and commercially ready e-book that combines design, education, and illustration to make Dutch vocabulary easier and more enjoyable for A1 learners.
