A complete multicultural food branding project designed to translate the warmth, authenticity, and energy of Costa Rican cuisine into a modern digital brand experience for the Dutch market.
The Vision
Mostaza was imagined as a Costa Rican food concept in the Netherlands — a brand built around nostalgia, comfort food, community, and the emotional experience of “Pura Vida.”
The challenge was to create a visual identity that felt authentic and culturally rooted while also appealing to a modern European audience through elevated branding, refined presentation, and strong digital storytelling.
Dream Architects Studio developed the visual identity, logo system, social media direction, and digital branding experience to help the concept feel warm, memorable, and instantly recognizable.
Building a Cultural Brand Experience
The identity system was designed to communicate warmth, homemade flavor, cultural pride, and modern presentation all at the same time. Rather than relying on stereotypical tropical aesthetics, the visual direction focused on elegance, emotional familiarity, and elevated food storytelling.
The Digital Direction
The social media system was designed to feel warm, elegant, and emotionally rich — combining artisan food photography, handwritten typography, earthy tones, and culturally inspired storytelling.
The visual direction blends Costa Rican warmth with modern European café aesthetics, helping the brand feel both authentic and premium at the same time.
Gold mustard tones, natural greens, cream backgrounds, and cinematic food imagery were intentionally selected to create a cohesive and instantly recognizable visual atmosphere.

Mostaza was envisioned as more than a food business — it was designed as a cultural experience. The branding focuses on emotion, nostalgia, hospitality, and connection, creating a visual identity capable of resonating with both Costa Rican communities abroad and new international audiences discovering the cuisine for the first time.
